“Dr. Littleford probably saved my life, because now I have one.” – Sherri, Photographer

Testimonials*

Lew K. – Tennis Professional, Middle-Aged

"I am a Tennis Professional (President of the Colorado District of the U.S. Professional Tennis Association), and a Wellness/Personal Performance consultant. These are professions that obviously require significant levels of physical activity. In June I fell from a ladder, suffering significant injury to my lower back. I tried to “play through the pain” and continue my level of activity, which aggravated the injury and caused sciatic nerve inflammation so severe that I could walk only a few steps at a time in agonizing pain.

Conventional treatment modalities suggested heavy medication, traction and possibly surgery. Chiropractic provided little relief. At that point, I consulted Dr. Littleford, whom I had seen several years ago. I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that he had opened a branch of his practice in Parker. (Had I known that previously, I would have seen him immediately.)

After the first session with Dr. Littleford, I felt considerable relief. After three treatments (with OMM) I am returning to higher levels of activity, teaching on court and expect full recovery in short order. I have recommended Dr. Littleford to several associates, and highly recommend a consultation with him for any nagging injury, especially before considering more radical conventional treatment."

Melissa K. – Housewife, Age 40

"Before I saw Dr. Littleford, my neck pain kept me awake at night and unable to comfortably do many daytime activities with my two young boys. After being treated by Dr. Littleford, I am pain-free and feeling great."

Sherri L. – Photographer, Age 45

"I have had chronic back pain and limited back function for years. I have had operations to relieve arm and leg numbing and numerous rounds of cortisone injections. All of these procedures produced little to no relief and served only as a ‘band-aid’ effect. Then I was referred to Dr. Littleford. Dr. Littleford did a thorough and complete exam of my whole back and body, then determined a treatment plan based on OMM that was clearly discussed and explained to me. Dr. Littleford understands the body’s function and he understands pain and the effect pain has on the body (and the mind). I have been in treatment for some time and have recovered a good portion of the function in my back. The pain that basically was ruining my life is no longer keeping me from my daily activities. For years I trusted 'conventional medical wisdom,' which hurt, rather than helped my healing process. Dr. Littleford and his use of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine saved me mentally and physically."

Kathy – High School Registrar, Age 46

"At 16 I had surgery for Schurmann’s Disease, which is a genetic type of scoliosis. The doctors inserted rods and screws to straighten my spine. I was in a body cast for nine months, during which my normal growth patterns were effected. After the cast was removed, I was told to avoid strenuous exercise. For the rest of my young adult and adult years I had generalized pain. When I became pregnant, the low back pain worsened. In delivery, my tail bone was damaged and I began to have constant back pain that would incapacitate me. My orthopedic surgeons offered no relief, so I began seeking chiropractic care. Their treatment offered only temporary relief and did not solve any of my underlying pain problems. Then, I began to have debilitating headaches. I was trying to live a normal life, work and take care of a child, but pain was limiting me from having a 'normal' life.

Having met Dr. Littleford at our children’s school, I decided to seek OMM after an informal discussion at a school event. Dr. Littleford began treating me with multiple modalities including OMT, trigger point injections and, once my body was functioning better, he began using prolotherapy.

Dr. Littleford has made a huge difference in the quality of my life. Prior to treatment with him, my pain was misunderstood, misdiagnosed or dismissed. Through the combination of treatments and the quality of care I received from Dr. Littleford, I have been able to enjoy gardening, housework, and just began a full-time job that would have been impossible for me to accomplish prior to his care. My life is not pain-free, but now it is manageable. I will never take life’s 'simple' activities for granted again, but will enjoy the possibilities that are now open to me."

Justin K. – Plumber, Age 28

"I can thank my mother’s family for a history of bad backs, yet, when I was young I did everything I could think of to destroy my own. In high school I competed in a number of high-energy, physically demanding sports including wrestling and baseball. After high school I got into competitive body building in a big way. During and after the heavy lifting is when I first realized that I had a problem, but, being young, I never sought treatment for my back and knees that hurt so bad, sometimes I couldn’t get out of bed.

Now I am a plumber; married with children. I work hard physically all day. I’m bent over in crawl spaces and on my knees continuously. With the pain I was experiencing, it was almost impossible for me to work some days.

Before Dr. Littleford treated me, I visited a number of chiropractors, but their treatments didn’t work. For a while I would feel better, then the same pains would return. When I began seeing Dr. Littleford, I thought I was in for the same old thing because he manipulates. I thought it was just another word for the 'adjustments' I was receiving from the chiropractor.

Boy, was I wrong! Dr. Littleford took a full medical and accident/injury history; from the day I took a header from my crib onto the hardwood floor to the injuries I suffered in heavy weight lifting to the positions and movements I must do as a professional plumber. This is on top of all the medical history that Dr. Littleford said might contribute to my 'pain patterns.' Then Dr. Littleford began a combination of what he called OMT, medication and physical therapy treatments. I felt better immediately, but continued to see the doctor for severe joint pain, especially in my knees. For my knee pain, Dr. Littleford used prolotherapy, which he said was an injection with a non-steroid solution to get the ligaments to heal themselves. There was very little pain, but great results. My back and knees feel better than they have in years. I am able to work pain free, which is very important to me and my family."

Tim – Appraiser, Long-Drive Competitor, Middle-Aged

"I have always been an avid outdoorsman. I hunt and fish, but my greatest love is golf. For many years I competed on The World Long Drive Competition Circuit and regularly drove over 370 yards in this renowned golf competition.

During my years of competition in the Long Drive, I experienced the chronic pains and strains common to golfers competing at this level. Shoulder, neck and low back pain interfered with the quality of my performance. More recently, I fell off a ladder and severely strained my right shoulder, which, I was told, was compounded by the strains and sprains sustained during my competition in the Long Drive.

After my fall, I consulted two doctors and had an MRI. Both physicians suggested surgery was the only treatment option. I preferred to avoid surgery for a number of reasons, the most important being recovery time, interference with my golf game and reports from others that were dissatisfied with the results of shoulder surgery. My masseuse told me about Dr. Littleford, who used non-surgical techniques, including osteopathic manipulation and something called 'prolotherapy.' I was definitely looking for an alternative to surgery, so I made an appointment to see Dr. Littleford.

During the discussion of my medical and injury history, Dr. Littleford told me that my history of overuse injuries contributed to the seriousness of my injury in my fall from the ladder and that it was important to fully understand my injury history before any treatment could be suggested. This was the most thorough approach I had ever received in a doctor’s office.

My treatment began with osteopathic manipulation of my entire body, with special techniques used to address my shoulder problems. Dr. Littleford suggested a series of strengthening and stretching exercises and suggested that I might consider trigger point and ligament injections to address my overused and abused joint issues.

As an athlete, I am overjoyed with the results of Dr. Littleford’s care. Before I started seeing Dr. Littleford, I couldn’t do anything because of the pain in my shoulder. It has taken three months, but now I have complete use of my shoulder again. I have no pain. I just wish that I had known about Dr. Littleford eight years ago when I was competing in Long Drive. I could have used his help with the strains and pains that are inevitable in serious competition."
